View more....I have been fascinated with the Boomerang since the age of 13 when my aunt first gifted me one. I the became fortunate to become Guru Ken Colbung’s only Indian disciple in 1991and the first Indian to not just throw but even carve a Boomerang, My Guru, Mr. Ken Colbung, was an Australian aboriginal and former chairman of the Australian Institute of Aboriginal Studies. My first international appearance was at Jamboori, in Perth, Australia, in 1994, and even got the chance to play with the then Western-Australia champion in a friendly match. After my return to India, in 1996, I got the opportunity to participate in a workshop on Boomerang and Aboriginal traditions and tools with Mr. Ken Colbung, at IGRMS Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
IFBA reunites all the national Boomerang Associations which have decided to agree with the IFBA statute and which regularly take part and organize Boomerang tournaments according to the rules of IFBA.
IFBA statute has as one of its most important points the spirit of “sport for all”. The rule of the competitions is a way to “measure” the game but the inclusion of all the throwers is as important as the game.
